  • sunod kong napansin yung expressions at stuff. sobrang sapphire ym style. puro emoticons like "~_~" at iba pa.
  • um, ang arte ko pala nun. tingin ko lang. lalang. hanggang ngayon din, pero at a lower degree. :P
  • eto yung pinakanakatawag-pansin sakin: ambabaw ko pala nun. sobra. hanggang ngayon mababaw parin siguro ako, but not like before. i mean, tingnan mo naman entries ko.

nung napansin ko ung mga un, naisip kong, burahin ko kaya yung ibang entries or gumawa ng bagong blog.. pero naisip kong wag nalang, kasi nung binabasa ko ung lumang entries ko, parang.. nakita ko how much i've changed, for better or for worse.

So, ayun nga, naisip kong buhayin tong blog ko. Hindi nako masyadong nagoonline nowadays (alam ng dating mga saph un, and they know why), pero magpopost parin ako from time to time. maybe it's for the better, para hindi puro kababawan pinopost ko, tipid pa sa internet card (wala kaming dsl, believe it or not). So, yan. maybe magpopost nako agad this same night (madaling araw), maybe not, depende kung antukin ako or mawala sa mood. wala sigurong magbabasa ng mga nakasulat (again, nakatype) sa blog na to, pero baka mas makabuti pa yun, kasi sooner or later, magiging sabog at senti at corny ang mga nandito (ngayon pa nga lang corny na eh). wag naman sana. DX anyway. there. happy/sad/indifferent reading.

PS. ang stupid ko talaga, ndi parin ako marunong maglagay ng tagboard. comment nalang kayo kung gus2 nyo. :P

A Call to All Scholars

“Pumasa ako?!” The Philippine Science High School confirmation letter came as a shock. I never expected myself to be able to pass the second entrance examination. Having guessed my way through the entire Mathematics part of the exam, I had given up all hope, and as I read the letter signed “Ramon Miranda, PSHS Director”, I was wondering how it happened. A few weeks later, I found myself entering the gates of PSHS Main Campus in the I’m-not-a-waiter monochromatic school uniform. I missed the Freshmen Orientation, so I was as clueless as a kindergartener. “That’s a step short from all the others,” I thought bitterly. It was my first day as a PSHS scholar. From that time on I held my head up with pride, with a promise to put aside my shortcomings as a student. I haven’t quite fulfilled that promise up to now.

Philippine Science High School, lovingly known as “Pisay” to its students, is a school for gifted students. All of its entrants are the cream of the crop of their own schools, and being the achievers they are, much is expected from them. However, passing through the front lobby every morning, I see students crowding around a book or activity sheet copying their classmate’s answers. I ascend the staircase, and as I enter the Sapphire classroom, there isn’t much difference. This daily routine is usually followed by me saying “Ay $#!+, may homework?! Pakopya naman...” and then joining the cluster of panicking classmates. This is what we have dubbed “Cooperative Learning”. I have started doubting long ago if all Pisay students really deserve the benefits and the honor that comes with being national scholars.

I, too, am guilty of cramming, copying a friend’s homework, or submitting half-assed projects on extended deadlines. I am also a student. I get lazy from time to time (in truth, almost all the time), I have experienced postponing projects and realizing that several were due the following day, and I’ve had my share of bad-mouthing our beloved teachers. I admit that I’ve been slacking off for most of the past school year. Now, during the finals exam, is the only time I ever recall studying seriously. As for the rest of the school year, I got by through cramming and a sheer amount of luck. Of course, it’s not enough to get me top marks, but there’s the excuse of saying “Mahirap sa Pisay eh,” or “Matatalino din yung iba eh.” Yes, I’m using the fact that I’m studying in Pisay as an excuse for under-achieving. The irony is sickening. It’s guilt and the realization that what I’m doing won’t get me through high school that made me change.

Has being a scholar blown up our egos and created a sense of over-complacency? For me, it certainly has. I’m sure that you’ve heard a story or two about Pisay students who flunked. I tried putting myself in their shoes, and I can’t figure out how to bear the shame it brought, and the disappointment that his or her family felt.
Fortunately for us, or at least most of us, it’s not too late to mend our ways. In our first year in Philippine Science, like I said, we may have wormed our way through without exerting 100% of our effort, but we may not be able to get past our remaining years as students in the same way. Being a scholar doesn’t mean we should lie back, relax, enjoy our stipends, sip a daiquiri and do nothing else. Being a scholar means we should work harder to live up to the higher expectations we carry on our shoulders, although it doesn’t mean that our world should revolve around studying. Never forget to enjoy high school while it lasts. As we go on through life, we will realize that success isn’t determined by how much we have done, but by how much effort we exerted.

"As we go on through life, we will realize that success is measured neither by the diameter of one’s head nor the number of Newtons he can exert but by the volume of sweat in his shirt."

Waaahh HW. >:E

homework, like, sucks.

Napagbaliktad ko ung angular perspective at parallel perspective.

Wala pakong speech. waahh.

Wala pakong CS family tree. waahh.

Tinatamad ako.

And we still have the English Class Paper. o____o

wala lang.. Naisipan ko lang gawin... summary of book requirements for this year:::

1st Quarter : S. Marner
~of all the book requirements, i hate this the most. Although it's not that long, it will take you less time to read the all the books in the Library of Alexandria than this book because its so damn boring. It's mostly about pedophilia. So, ew.

2nd Quarter: OT
~not as boring as the first book, but it's LONG. For some reason Yana likes this book. Loves it. In more ways than one. o____o oh well. Like its predecessor, it's also about pedophilia, but this time, its HOMO pedophilia. Which makes it a bit more interesting. But not interesting enough to make it worthwhile to read the book. I didn't bother to read it. ~_~

3rd Quarter: RBoC
~not as boring as OT and S. Marner, and its short, so, yay. :D among the four books, this is the best mainly because it enriched the Sapphire vocabulary: there's Dernit, Durnit, Dernyeh, Durnyeh, and t'morrah. This book is mostly about blood and killing and slaughtering and skewering and ramrods. And wth is a ramrod???

4th Quarter: HoD
~ aka, Dorkness. It's really, really short (that sounds wrong). I was able to read it in less than a couple of hours. But its still boring, though. Its just about niggers. I got a new expression from it, though:
by Jove!!!

So, yay. So bored. Wala pakong speech. Dun wanna do it.. (that sounds wrong)

So, yeah.

Bow.

(notice that i didn't mention the whole names of the books. wala lang. baka biglang lumabas blog ko when people search for the book titles. and i'll get charged of stuff. o___o)

Nyahaha... At last we have perfect attendance! This is a picture we took outside Room 309 after the IS exam, which explains the smug looks on our faces. Or at least on some. Neon and Mike just looked GAY.

Post Perio

Uh, it's like after exams. We're supposed to be happy or something, right? But not really, coz we have Post Perio projects. DX (Peace Sir Joey. :D) Anyway, we have to do this formal theme thing and the third part of our Book of Myself which we started during first quarter. I don't exactly remember what the first part was about, but it was supposed to contain stuff about yourself. The second was quite more enjoyable, since we made some kind of picture album with all the people who matter to you in it. This time we're supposed to make up some kind of Personal Legend. I haven't started mine yet, and it's due this coming Friday. Normally we would have had a day left to do it, but no. Manzo required us to be at school until 10pm. >:E

Earlier today we went to SM North again, same people as yesterday. Only this time, we bought more stuff. We had this unique version of Kris Kringle called "ambagan" ©Vince. XD Thing was, Mike wasn't with us so he wasn't able to chip in, although we were able to get him a gift. Won't tell what it is, though. >XD So Marga and Trish got two identical pink teddy bears (whose heads they squeezed maliciously before buying), Jut got... Uh, what did he get again? Oh yeah, a pair of jeans, and I got a bag. Now only Neon doesn't have his gift, which must be because he demands Nike stuff. DX Just kidding, hehe. (Again, I hope his parents aren't reading this DX) Basta we weren't able to get his gift yet, maybe this coming Friday we will. That's like three times to the mall this week. Perio week. Another interesting thing: Remember Sir Luy's saying "Kahaba-haba man ng prosesyon, sa Mcdo din ang tuloy". Weird it may seem, but it proved right. We were thinking of where to eat. Shakey's? Nah, masyadong mahal. May gimmick pa tayo sa Friday. Tokyo Tokyo? Dyan tayo kumain kahapon eh! And then we came upon Mcdo. Mcdo nlang ano? Mas cheap pa! Hehehe. After proving Sir Luy's Theory of McDonalditivity, we decided to buy the stuff for the Soc Sci out-reach thing. But problem was, we were carrying too many stuff and we didn't want to leave them at the baggage counter. So we did the traditional Maiba Alis to determine which two people will stay outside the grocery with the stuff we bought, and those two were Neon and I. Eventually we got bored of waiting and went to Starbucks instead, where I exhausted my wallet. We also bought Mike's gift there. Oh wait, I wasn't supposed to say that... Oh well, we'll give him a Starbucks tumbler, coz he's a certified Mocha Frappe addict. Plus the booze. Plus the pot. Anyway, we went back to Pisay after that, during which we were overcharged by this ugly smelly defiled abominable despicable revolting disgusting vomit-inducing mirror-cracking taxi driver. (If I weren't sleepy I would have put more adjectives) Jut was about to argue when Neon and I decided to just play along because seriously, with a face like that, who wouldn't be scared? Freddy Kreuger would have looked gorgeous compared to that nincompoop. Some way to end a gimmick, eh? Anyway, we learned our lesson: Never to trust anyone who looks like he's been operated upon by a drunk plastic surgeon. XD (Now we're a bit more careful around Jut)

Picture we took inside the taxi on the way back to Pisay. Neon's the one taking the picture. I just noticed, why isn't Neon in any of the pics?

From left: Marga, Trish, Me, Mike, Jut (sa taas), Inna. Dunno where the hell Neon is...

Return of my Blog DDDX

If you're reading this then i assume you already know me. But if you don't know me and I don't know you either and you found this blog by God knows how, then I'm Vince. I don't know you anyway, so i don't think it's my obligation to let you know who I am. For all I know you might be some stalker, like Jut. Anyway, this is my first post, or at least my first post in this blog. I've had several blogs before, but I forgot their addresses. If ever I remember, I doubt it if I still know the password. So, carp. That's why I made a new one.

Well, it's exam week this week, and tomorrow's the third and last day. Normally, (or at least in my standards), I'd be glad that exams are almost over and the Christmas vacation's coming up. But as of now, I haven't reviewed for Soc Sci and IS. Why? Coz I still had to do my drafting plate and study for Tech Prep. And I'm making this blog. :D So, yeah. Life sucks. >:E At least today was fun. The afternoon, I mean. Duh. We just underwent two excruciating exams (Math and Fil) and one boring exam (Obvious ba?), and we were like, hanging out by the *****. Some people aren't allowed to know the place DX Anyway, we were there doing nothing when we decided to go to Starbucks at SM North. "We", referring to me, Jut, Marga, Trish, and Neon. Trish and I had permission to go out, and Jut doesn't need one (his parents don't love him anyway XD). I don't know if Marga was allowed, but who cares? Only Kuya R and Quintin do... Anyway, Neon's parent's don't know about it. (Boy, I do hope they're not reading this DX). So we took a cab and arrived at SM in about, 15 minutes or something. I don't exactly remember because Trish, Marga and Jut were too damn noisy in the taxi and my brain got a little messed up. (Not the Ingrid version of messed up brain) When we got there we didn't have a clue where the hell Starbucks is, so we decided to ask around. Or at least Jut did. Which was a pretty bad idea, owing to the fact that he asked the people impolitely (What's new?). Anyway, we were looking for Starbucks but in the process, we passed a lot of shops which Trish and Marga seemed to go into. We soon discovered that Neon has shopping allergy. Like, wth, what could be worse than that??? Besides having Toledance virus, that is. So we came upon a shop called Bearhuggs, which I never heard of before, and as the name suggests, it sells teddy bears of all sizes. There was like this bear as big as Hippo (that's a proper name), and there are even these bears that come in cans about the size of a 3310. If you don't know what a 3310 is, then... I dunno, carp. :D Anyway, the shop didn't only sell bears, it also had different animals like pigs and cows and some other farm animals. But they didn't have a goat, so the shop sucks. >:E We bought this piggy pillow for Inna for--- oh wait, you're not supposed to say how much your gifts cost XD We went to Tokyo Tokyo afterwards and ate. Duh. I didn't try the sashimi because Yana said it tastes weird. While we were eating, Sir Joey texted Neon saying that some of our classmates were complaining about how Neon was doing the play for English. That "some" turned out to be Kate. Go Kate, we should nag Neon more! >XD So he spent most of the time texting Sir Joey, so naturally he finished last. As usual, Jut didn't eat the vegetables so I ate them instead. *meh meh* After eating and making fun of Jut, we went to Starbucks. It's probably too late, but I got the sticker card thing anyway. The stickers were cute. :3 Having accomplished our main objective, we went back to Pisay. Yay. Looking forward to more Starbucks t'morrah. I'll end it here. I still have to review for IS and Soc Sci, you know. o__o
